Los Angeles
You can live the showbiz lifestyle for a summer! The entertainment industry was born in L.A., so if you’re an aspiring actor or entrepreneur, L.A. is for you. Live by the beaches, go to the major super clubs, go hiking on your day off.
Washington DC
Did you know that Washington D.C. is the capital of the US? It’s the bursting with history, politics and culture. Known for its endless museums, vibrant food-scene and excellent public transport facilities you’ll struggle to run out of things to keep you entertained while on your J1 in Washington D.C.
Cape Cod
This may be the cutest place in America with its seafood shacks, lighthouses, quaint villages, ponds and miles of ocean beaches. Why not pop into Boston on your day off? It’s only an hour and 40mins away! Make sure to check out the beach and house parties!
Boston
It’s the city where old-world atmosphere is mixed with present day excitement and vitality. The city of Boston is vibrant in outlook and vibrant in attitude making it the perfect J1 destination for those who want a little piece of authentic America. It’s a world centre for education, medicine, high technology and finance. Boston’s role in shaping American History is unique among all other cities, from Paul Revere’s House to the Boston Tea Party Ship; history is on every corner.
New York
Over eight million people call the Big Apple home and it’s not hard to see why. New York is a thriving metropolis of sights, sounds and scenes. Every world culture combines to create a city of attitude and atmosphere with every intersection offering something new. Made up of various districts including Manhattan, Brooklyn and Long Island, it’s a popular destination for J1ers.
San Francisco
San Francisco is renowned for its often-chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, an eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture, and its peninsular location surrounded on three sides by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Spending your J1 in San Francisco could be the Summer of a lifetime.
Chicago
The picturesque skyline of Chicago is one of the best in the world, and for the third largest city in America it’s managed to remain so charming even though it’s so large. The city runs along the shores of Lake Michigan and covers an area of over 200 square miles. So you’re sure to find something you love on your J1 in Chicago.
San Diego
Its superb coastline and near-perfect climate make it the quintessential Southern California beach city. Most J1ers heading for the beaches end up living in the beach towns north of the city of San Diego in places like Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, and Pacific Beach all of which are blessed-by-nature.
