Why Myrtle Beach

One of the main coastal city attractions on the east coast of the USA is Myrtle Beach with a population of 23,000 permanent it continues to grow and become a popular J1 destination each year.

Located in the centre of a 60 mile stretch of beach known “The Grand Strand”.

The popular areas are dominated by the tourist industry from hotels and resorts to restaurants and attractions. The golfing industry has also become a growing area for tourists and residents.

Climate

The summer season is long and hot with average day temperatures from 28-33 °C and average night temperatures staying above 20 degrees.

If you are looking for the heart of summer sunshine on the east coast, Myrtle Beach enjoys more than 2800 hours a year in the sun. There’s also lots of seasonal jobs so it’s generally easier to find a J1 job for your Summer in the States.

Broadway at the Beach shopping centre and entertainment complex is set on 350 acres within the heart of the city. Fun nightlife, and home attractions such as Wonderworks, the Hollywood Wax Museum and Ripley’s Aquarium.

Myrtle Beach is the largest shopping destination in South Carolina, with one of the largest indoor malls on the coast.
