Why Chicago for your j1?

The picturesque skyline of Chicago is one of the best in the world, and for the third largest city in America it’s managed to remain so charming even though it’s so large. The city runs along the shores of Lake Michigan and covers an area of over 200 square miles. So you’re sure to find something you love on your J1 in Chicago.

‘Chi-Town’ is famous for many things, especially its professional sports teams including the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs baseball teams, the Chicago Bulls basketball team, the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team, and also is notorious for housing gangsters (namely Al Capone) and skyscrapers.

Climate

The change in weather between the different seasons in Chicago can be quite severe. July is the warmest month with an average high temperature of 84 °F (29 °C) and an average low of 63 °F (17 °C). So as you’ll be there for a J1 Summer you’ll get away with shorts and t-shirts. As it cools down in the evenings you may need a light jacket to keep you cosy.
